HERODOTUS TELLS : CARIA, CARIAN CITIES AND the CARIANS

In his book, Herodotus gives very important information about his homeland, the Caria region and the Carians. He talks about the origin of the Carians, their military innovations, the cities of Caria, the invasion of the Caria region by the Persian armies, the Carian sacred places, and important cities such as Pedasa and Labranda where the Persian-Greek Wars took place. Archaeologist Mehmet Çuhadar will talk about these Carian cities, the famous Carians, and the events that took place in Caria during the Persian-Greek wars.

MEHMET ÇUHADAR (1949, Kahramanmaraş)
Mehmet Çuhadar graduated from Ankara University, Faculty of Language, History and Geography, Classical Archeology Department and served in Konya Archeology Museum and Bodrum Underwater Archeology Museum. He participated in archaeological excavations in the Muğla region since his student years and also worked as a government representative on behalf of the Ministry of Culture in a number of foreign led excavations. Mehmet Çuhadar gave numerous conferences on Turkey's Cultural Heritage, Faith Tourism in Turkey, Underwater Archeology in Bodrum, Caria Culture, Herodotus and Tourism. In 1997 Çuhadar received from the Association of Tourism Writers "The Best Guide" award for his services in the industry. He also wrote books on Cappadocia Regions, and published maps highlighting Turkey's historical, archaeological and cultural values.
