Halicarnassus is one of the most important antique cities where old ruins have remained underground. This is due to the fact that life continued in the same region for centuries, building cities on top of each other. Bodrum hosts the oldest original ancient theaters of Anatolia; the 2350-year-old Myndos Gate mentioned in Alexander the Great’s famous siege of Halicarnassus; the newly excavated city walls; the Mausoleum, one of the seven wonders of the ancient world; the Temple of Mars; the many Roman uncovered mosaics and the unexcavated ancient stadium. On our walking tour, we will explore the important known and unknown structures of ancient Halicarnassus with Archaeologist Mehmet Çuhadar.
Meeting place and time: Myndos Gate 10:00, duration: 3 hours
* Participation is limited to 25 people. Registration 0532 273 04 89
